Canadian Forces Snowbird member dies after crash in Kamloops BC

A Canadian Forces Snowbird has died following a plane crash in Kamloops, BC on Sunday.

The Snowbirds have been touring across the interior of BC as part of their Operation Inspiration cross-Canada tour to increase morale during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sunday’s crash was captured and shared on social media by local residents who witnessed the incident in the North Shore area of Kamloops.

The Canadian Forces confirmed Captain Jenn Casey was the sole victim of the accident, while another pilot, Captain Richard MacDougall, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Captain Casey was a former journalist from Halifax, Nova Scotia who served as a Public Affairs officer for the Canadian Armed Forces.

Tributes have since poured out on social media, remembering Captain Casey as positive, kind, and always smiling.
