A new kind of potato variety has just launched across Canada — and it's extra buttery
Whether they’re fried, mashed, roasted, or served with a mountain of cheese, few foods are as versatile and delicious as the humble potato. And while you may have thought you’ve tried all the varieties, a new one has just launched across Canada.
Touted as “Canada’s first-ever butter potato,” EarthFresh said this new potato creation will “redefine taste, texture and versatility in the potato category.”
Available in Butter Golds, Butter Reds, and Butter Russets, these new potatoes are promised to feature a naturally buttery, creamy interior that is so rich in flavour that you won’t need to add any butter to them.

After gaining what EarthFresh calls a “successful debut in the U.S.,” one that saw stores selling out of these new potatoes, Butter Potatoes have officially made their Canadian debut.
These new potatoes are currently available at select grocery stores across Canada in 5 lb bags.
