This locally owned bubble tea shop near Edmonton is closing its doors

Boba Bar is closing this month, marking the end of a nearly four-year business venture at their spot in Sherwood Park, just east of Edmonton.

This bubble tea cafe is a small business just outside of the city, offering a large menu full of delightful drinks that come with the ever-so-popular boba pearls and other fun toppings.

Recently, the shop announced it would be closing on Mondays after previously being open every day of the week, and then it followed with another, even more shocking announcement. This October, Boba Bar has made the difficult decision to close its doors.

The official last day of operation for this bubble tea cafe will be this upcoming Sunday, Oct. 18.

“What we are most grateful for is you,” co-owners Rich and Air said on Instagram. “Thank you for every visit, every drink, every conversation, and every bit of support you’ve shown us over the years. More than a bubble tea shop, Boba Bar became a community — and that is something we will cherish forever.”

Up until Oct. 18, you’re still able to stop by the bubble tea bar and get a sip of your favourite teas, slush drinks, and more.

“Thank you for choosing to support local, for believing in our little business, and for helping us make memories that we will carry with us long after our doors close,” reads their post on Instagram.
