The Alberta Rockies are full of breathtaking spots, and one lake was just named one of the best to visit in the world in your lifetime.
British newspaper The Telegraph released a roundup of the 10 lakes you must visit in your lifetime, and out of all the spots around the world, a lake tucked away in Alberta made the cut.
Jasper National Park‘s very own Maligne Lake was named to the list, joining just one other Canadian lake on it, Lake Huron, which is also shared with the United States.

The newspaper touted that the lake felt “genuinely wild” thanks to no major developments along the water’s edge, and the drive to it along Maligne Lake Road offers up ample opportunities to spot wildlife.
It also suggested taking a cruise or kayaking on the lake from the boat house on its shores.
The lake also has a hidden gem of an island you can even camp on, so if you love exploring nature, it’s a total must.
