Alberta is bursting with plenty of gorgeous landscapes, so it’s no surprise that two spots in the Rockies were named some of the most beautiful in the world.
A new report published by U.S. News & World Report wrangled up the 51 most beautiful landscapes in the world, with just three locations in Canada landing on the list, and two of them are right here in Alberta.
Take some notes, because if you haven’t checked out these landscapes before, you’ll want to sometime soon.
Sunwapta Valley in Jasper National Park

Nestled along the Icefields Parkway is the Sunwapta River Valley in Jasper National Park, with U.S. News tapping this area due to the highway offering a “front-row seat to the beautiful glaciers of the Columbia Icefield” along with the iconic Columbia Icefield Skywalk. If you aren’t afraid of heights, this glass overlook features stunning glacier vistas from 918 feet above the valley.
Lake Louise in Banff National Park

Time and time again, Lake Louise in Banff National Park makes best-of lists, so it’s no shocker that U.S. News included it thanks to its turquoise glacial waters surrounded by towering evergreens and snowy summits.
The publication also shouted out the hiking trails that are scattered nearby, two historic teahouses to enjoy, and the chance to skate on the lake when the winter months arrive. We also think the ice castle that gets built on the lake every winter is a perfect photo opportunity, too!
Other spots to make the cut from around the world include Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park along the Arizona-Utah border, Uluru in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia, and Santorini Caldera in Greece.
