Oh, oh, you think you’re special
Oh, oh, you think you’re something else?

Because you are, Daniela Agostino.

For most concertgoers, getting invited on stage to sing would be a once-in-a-lifetime chance. For Agostino, it’s seemingly once every 22 years.

The Torontonian was eight years old when she first shared the stage with Shania Twain, the popular Canadian country singer.

On Sunday, 22 years later, she did it again.

Agostino, an opera singer in her own right, says she made a sign that said, “Pick me to sing” when she was first called on stage by Twain in 2001. She recalled saying the country singer asked her, “Do you want to be a singer when you grow up?”

Agostino says it was a life-changing moment and she is currently working as a professional opera singer for the Toronto Opera Theatre and Opera York.

Over the weekend, Twain was performing at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena as part of her Queen Of Me Tour when she began to speak about how much she enjoys connecting with her fans.

Earlier in the week, Agostino had posted old footage of her original stage call-up, and, not knowing if the country star had seen the posts, Twain ended up repeating history.

This time, Agostino was called on stage and told Twain she “sings opera, that’s what I’m trained to do,” before singing a bit of “From This Moment On.”

As the young singer wrapped up her second on-stage performance with Twain, the 58-year-old star told Agostino she has “a gorgeous voice.”

In a follow-up Instagram story, Agostino says Shania Twain changed her life in many ways and that she is now “going to sleep with the fullest heart,” calling the last 48 hours “crazy.”

So yes, that DOES impress her much.
