Vancouver-based athleisure giant lululemon has confirmed major job cuts due to the company’s evolving organizational structure.
In a statement to Daily Hive, a lululemon company spokesperson stated that 150 corporate employees at its Store Support Centres (SSCs) would be “leaving the company.”
“This is not a decision we made lightly, and we are committed to supporting our employees through this transition,” said the spokesperson.

The company’s website notes that the SCCs are “home to everyone from business operations to community relations.”
lululemon did not clarify if these cuts were exclusive to SSCs in Canada or at its global locations.
The spokesperson did provide further details on what prompted the changes.
“As we continue to deliver on our strategy, we regularly assess our business operations to ensure we are well-positioned for the future,” they stated.
“Following a recent review, we have decided to evolve some aspects of our organizational structure to operate with more agility and further invest in our growth.”
The company’s growing pains were also in the spotlight last spring, as some analysts expressed caution about the brand’s stagnant growth in the North American market.
In May 2024, Canada’s Competition Bureau also launched an investigation into lululemon over allegations of “greenwashing,” or misleading shoppers about its environmental impact.
Despite the rough patches, lululemon has been recognized as one of the best employers in Canada.
Earlier this year, Forbes listed the company as 15th on its annual list.
