lululemon’s Big-Ass Bag is tote-ally taking over the internet

Someone alert Tom Wambsgans because another “ludicrously capacious bag” is terrorizing city streets and breaking the internet.
Beloved Canadian apparel brand lululemon launched its newest product, aptly called the Big-Ass Bag that, not to be hyperbolic, looks like you can actually fit everything and the kitchen sink in it.
The oversized bag, complete with padded straps and zipper pockets on both the interior and exterior, measures out to be 56cm wide, 32cm deep, and 83cm tall. On its website, lululemon describes it simply as “80L.”

Its offensively enormous size isn’t the only thing that’s comical. The price to schlep around all your life’s belongings over your shoulder is a steep $268.
Nevertheless, people online are having a field day with it. Even the lululemon subreddit is buzzing with posts of online reviews that have people in stitches. Literally no one can STFU about this BAB!
Whether these reviews are rhetorical from unserious buyers or genuine comments from people with enough personal stuff to furnish a second detached house, we don’t care. We’ll take a good belly laugh when we can get it during these trying times, right?
“Since my babies outgrew their carrier many years ago, I’ve been looking for another one to fit my seven and nine year old. I finally found it! Bonus perk: I can fit both kids in at the same time!” reads a recent review on lululemon’s website.
“I bought this bag for my mother-in-law. Unfortunately, it was not big enough for her ego.” Oh, sick burn.
“Congrats to lulu on constructing a tote large enough to accommodate all of my emotional baggage,” is another knee-slapper.
The funny reviews seem to be working, too, with one shopper admitting they’re buying one just for laughs. “I am buying this bag based purely for comedy and for the use of large bulky items, as someone reviewed! I still can’t stop LOL!!!”
One shopper even marveled at how quickly the bag became her new cat carrier. “My two cats fit in here with plenty of room. Always a head-turner when we are out, and they pop their heads out. Then everyone wants to know about the bag. There’s more room to spare so I’ll definitely be adopting more cats to carry around with the extra space.”
“May the Force be with you, because you’re going to need it to find anything in this bag. ONE giant pocket is basically the Death Star of bags!” another review reads. “Would absolutely carry it to a galaxy far, far away.”
“I can only fit two of my five kids in this bag, but I need all of them so I can get places faster, but overall it’s pretty good when I use it,” writes another shopper.
“NY requires dogs to fit in a bag or carrier to ride the subway. Need I say more.”
“I took it with me to my summer backpacking trip in Europe. I was able to bring back the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, and many other monuments in it. The only downside is that Frontier Airlines made me check it because it was too big for a personal item,” says another shopper.

Sadly, half the comments online are people recycling the same joke: “If only it were a bit bigger so I could fit some more stuff.”
What can you fit in an 80-litre bag, anyway? E! News reports the Big-Ass Bag is large enough to carry six throw pillows, 24 rolls of standard paper towels, or roughly 375 Honeycrisp apples. If the brand’s strategy was to appeal to people who love a massive Costco haul or an especially ambitious trip to the farmers market, it may have stumbled onto something here.
When the bag debuted Aug. 4, it was available in two colours, black and taupe; however, now only the latter remains in stock. If you’ve been sufficiently influenced and have nearly $300 to spare, you can add it to your cart before it sells out.
