Several Canadians beat the odds on Tuesday night’s Lotto Max draw.
The Sept. 2 draw had a $40-million jackpot up for grabs. The winning numbers were 04, 14, 22, 35, 37, 38, 49, and bonus 45.
While no one became an overnight multimillionaire, two Canadians did match six out of seven winning numbers, including the bonus, to split the Lotto Max second prize. One player from Maple Ridge, B.C., and one from Creston, B.C., are each taking home $81,695.70.

A player from Gibson, B.C., matched all four of the numbers to win the top prize of $500,000. Forty Canadians matched three out of four, taking home a modest $1,000 each.
The next Lotto Max jackpot increases to $50 million with two Maxmillions, so don’t forget to grab a ticket before the Friday, Sept. 5 draw.
There’s also Wednesday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw with a Gold Ball jackpot of $12 million.
Make sure to check your lottery tickets from the long weekend. There were plenty of winners from last Friday’s Lotto Max draw and Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw.
