It hasn’t been long since the last time someone won the Lotto Max top prize.
On Friday, May 23, someone matched seven of the winning numbers: 13, 19, 23, 26, 36, 39, 47, and bonus 07. The winner will take home the $40-million jackpot after purchasing their ticket in Burnaby, B.C.
B.C. lottery players have been on a winning streak.
During the Lotto Max draw on May 9, a Surrey resident won an $80-million prize, one of the largest lottery jackpots in the country’s history.
Justin Simporios said he was planning to make burgers for his wife and daughter on the day of the draw. He saw that the Lotto Max jackpot was $80 million and decided to take a chance.
“It’s just sinking in now, it’s life-changing,” said Simporios, wiping away his tears during the presentation ceremony.
If you’re hoping to try your luck again, the next draw is scheduled for Friday, June 6, and the jackpot is worth $10 million.
