One lucky Canadian couple is now celebrating after turning a small lottery win into an even bigger prize.
Susan and David Bishop are both retirees who live in South River, Ont. The pair have been trying their luck in the lottery for decades, playing twice a week and choosing a variety of games, including Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Bingo, and Crossword.
According to the couple, they had purchased several lottery tickets and had a couple of $50 winning tickets. So they headed to the store to use their winnings to buy more tickets. They decided to play the tickets while enjoying their morning coffee.

Susan started with a $5 Instant Crossword Tripler ticket and found that she had matched several letters in a word. But rather than continue, she passed the ticket to David and asked him to reveal the remaining letters.
“I said to him, ‘This could be our special ticket!'” she said. “When David uncovered the letter, he started singing, ‘Dingle, dingle, dingle!’ That’s our code word for winning.”
Susan recalled laughing in disbelief and asking, “We didn’t win $100,000, did we?”
Sure enough, the couple did score the game’s top prize, turning their $50 winnings into a $100,000 prize.

They were taken aback by their win and made sure to double-check their ticket. It wasn’t until they had their ticket validated at the store that reality truly sank in. While at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim their $100,000 cheque, the Bishops described it as “a surreal experience.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Jessie’s Kwik-Way on Montreal Avenue in South River.
