No one won the jackpot during the recent lottery draw, but two lucky winners certainly won’t be going home empty-handed.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, May 21, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $16 million. Although no one won the top prize, someone did win the guaranteed $1-million prize after they matched the winning number 36342785-01. According to PlayNow, the ticket was sold in Western Canada.

The winning numbers in the Classic draw were 01, 02, 37, 38, 43, 46, and bonus 40, but no one will be taking home the $5-million top prize. However, one person did come pretty close after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. As a result, they’ll be taking home the second prize worth $251,008.30. According to Atlantic Lottery, the winner purchased their Lotto 6/49 ticket in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The third prize will be split between 61 lottery players who matched five of the six winning numbers. They’ll each receive $1,727.90.

No one in B.C. won the Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000. Similarly, in Ontario, no one won the top Encore prize worth $1 million.

The last time someone won the jackpot was when a lottery player snagged the $60-million jackpot during the May 7 draw. According to OLG, the winning ticket was purchased online in Ontario.

The Lotto 6/49 jackpot is now worth $18 million, and the draw is set for Saturday, May 24.
