Construction worker splurges on $100 lottery ticket, scores massive prize
For one Canadian lottery winner, a massive win means financial security and enjoying more time with the family.
Justin Sheridan is a 35-year-old from London, Ont. who works in construction. He said he only plays the lottery occasionally, and when he does buy tickets, he enjoys playing Instant games. During the holidays, Sheridan stopped at a convenience store where he decided to treat himself: he splurged on an Instant Millionaire Multiplier, which costs $100 per play.

Sheridan recalled the moment when he discovered that he had won the game’s top prize.
“I was at home, playing my ticket, when I saw I had a match. When I saw the prize amount, I was shocked!” he recalled. “Winning was completely unexpected.”
Sheridan had managed to score the $1-million jackpot.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! I read and reread the rules of the game a few times, thinking maybe I’d made a mistake somewhere,” he said.
But when the realization hit that he was now $1 million richer, he couldn’t help but share the news with his loved ones.

“I shared the incredible news with my family, and everyone was so excited,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre to claim his prize. “It felt nice to have everyone be so thrilled for me. This experience has been wild! I never imagined I would end up here, much less for $1 million.”
He laughed, “I hope I don’t lose this cheque.”
Sheridan said the win means a lot to him and his family.
“It will go a long way to provide security for my daughter. I will make sure her education is paid for, and I will invest for our future,” he shared. “I will also take this opportunity to prioritize more time with her, which is more important to me than anything else.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Lakeport Road in St. Catharines.
