An Ontario lottery player in his 20s is celebrating a huge win after only a year of buying tickets.
Etobicoke resident Johnrey Pamintuan got to step inside the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) newest experiential lottery game, Instant Money Machine, and win $75,000.
The 23-year-old said he’s been playing OLG lottery games occasionally for the past year, specifically buying instant tickets.

“I won a Money Machine prize and brought my ticket to the store, thinking I had maybe won $5. When I had my ticket validated, and the store clerk told me I won a Money Machine Live Event, I was shocked. I never expected that!” he told the OLG.
The skilled trades worker said he watched videos of other Money Machine winners online to prepare for his turn.
“I think I can make a lot happen in 30 seconds,” he said.
When the big day arrived, Pamintuan said he felt nervous before stepping inside the Money Machine. His friends and family were there to cheer him on.

“All I could hear was the sound of the bills flying around. I never expected to win this much money. It’s wonderful and unbelievable,” he recalled.
Pamintuan has important plans for his lottery windfall. He wants to put his winnings towards his education and will also share them with his mom.

“I see all the sacrifices she has made for me throughout my life, and I’m so happy to take care of her,” he concluded with a smile.
The 23-year-old bought his winning lottery ticket at Rabba Fine Foods on Dundas Street West in Etobicoke.
