Life is about to look drastically different for two Canadian lottery players who managed to beat the odds to win the jackpot.
The lottery players instantly became multimillionaires overnight after the Lotto Max draw that took place on Tuesday, May 19. At the time, the jackpot was worth $25 million, and the winning numbers were 5, 15, 22, 24, 34, 37, and 49, with bonus 2. Two tickets managed to match all seven of the winning numbers. Split between them, each winner is now $12.5 million richer. According to WCLC, one ticket was sold in Quebec, while the other was purchased in Alberta.
The jackpot wasn’t the only one that was split, as two other players also shared the second prize.
Two people from Ontario matched six of the seven numbers, and the bonus to win the second prize. Each will receive their share worth $67,486.50. The third prize will be split among the 28 winners, who’ll each take home $4,911.70.
