
Canada has a brand-new multimillionaire after one lottery player scored a massive jackpot during the Victoria Day weekend draw.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, May 16, and it was life-changing for one Canadian lottery player. The winner is now $46 million richer after matching the Gold Ball Prize Draw winning numbers 24182524-02. According to WCLC, the ticket was sold somewhere in Manitoba.
There were other big winners, too.
Two people matched the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers, splitting the $5-million prize. As a result, winners from Ontario and Yellowknife, N.W.T., will each take home their share worth $2.5 million.
In addition, three people won the Classic Draw second prize — two in Ontario, one in Quebec — and will each receive $89,102.50. A total of 68 people split the third prize, with each one taking home a share worth $1,650.70.

No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra Prize, and in Ontario, no one scored the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was on March 11, when Emidio S. of Jarvis, Ont., took home a $44-million prize.
“I’ve always been grateful for what I had, and now I have even more to be grateful for,” he said. “I never thought this would happen to me. Now, I believe it. My heart is so full.”
The Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize has now reset to $10 million, and the next draw is on Wednesday, May 20.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, May 15, and no one won the $20-million jackpot or the $175,902.70 second prize. The third prize will be split among the 27 lottery players who matched six of the seven numbers. Each one will take home $6,638.20.
There were 20 MaxPlus prizes to be won; however, there were no winners during the draw. Similarly, no one in B.C. won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize, and no one in Ontario scored the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the $70-million Lotto Max jackpot was on Friday, May 8, after someone purchased the winning ticket in Brampton, Ont.
In B.C., no one won the $500,000, and in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, May 19, and the jackpot is worth $25 million.
