Three Canadians become millionaires overnight after Lotto 6/49 win

Three lottery players across Canada woke up a lot richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 Classic draw prize.

The most recent draw happened on Sept. 10, and at the time, the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize was worth $16 million. According to PlayNow, no one will be taking home the jackpot, but one lottery player did win the $1-million White Ball prize after purchasing their ticket in Ontario. The winning number was 54193282-01.

The Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers were 11, 25, 30, 35, 46, and 49, with a bonus number of 37. Three people managed to match all six numbers to score the $5-million prize. The winning tickets were sold in Western Canada, Ontario, and Quebec, and split between them, each winner will take home a prize worth $1,666,666.70.

Someone also won the Classic Draw second prize, and a lottery player from Quebec will take home the $219,318.90 prize. The third prize will be shared between 57 people who matched five of the six winning numbers. They’ll each receive $1,615.70.

No one in B.C. won the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000. However, someone in Ontario is now a millionaire after scoring the $1 million Encore prize. The winning number was 6078812.

The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 prize was on Wednesday, Aug. 27, when Quebec resident Claude Boucher won the $46-million Gold Ball prize.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, Sept. 13, and the Gold Ball prize is worth $18 million. There are now 26 balls left in the draw.
