
Whether or not they know it, a Canadian lottery player is now $1 million richer after the recent Lotto 6/49 draw.
The draw took place on Wednesday, May 14, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $12 million. Although no one won the main prize, someone did match the White Ball winning number 08449709-04 to win the guaranteed $1-million prize. According to PlayNow, the winner purchased their ticket in Mackenzie, B.C.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic winning numbers were 01, 08, 17, 18, 41, 48, and bonus 42, but no one won the $5-million prize. However, after matching five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, one lucky person in Atlantic Canada will soon walk away with a second prize worth $200,358.40. According to Atlantic Lottery, the lucky ticket was sold in the town of Conception Bay South in Newfoundland and Labrador.

A total of 84 Canadians will split the third prize after they matched five of the six winning numbers. They’ll each receive $1,001.60.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra prize, and no one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was on May 7, when an Ontario lottery player became instantly $60 million richer after matching the Gold Ball prize winning number 53689493-01. According to OLG, the ticket was purchased online.
If you hope to try your luck again, the next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, May 17. The Gold Ball prize is now worth $14 million.
