Canadian lottery player $5 million richer after Lotto 6/49 win
An extremely lucky Canadian will soon celebrate a life-changing windfall after an incredible $5 million lottery win.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, March 26, and the Gold Ball jackpot was worth $36 million. No one won the top prize but someone in Canada is now $1 million richer after they matched the winning number 02343352-03 to win the White Ball prize. According to PlayNow, the ticket was sold in Victoria, B.C.
But they weren’t the only big winner in the last draw.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic winning numbers were 09, 13, 25, 30, 45, 49, and bonus 08, and someone matched all six numbers, making them instantly $5 million richer. According to Atlantic Lottery, the winning ticket was sold in New Brunswick.

Other winners will be taking home some pretty impressive prizes.
Five people managed to match five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number to win the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw second prize. Split between them, they’ll each take home their share worth $39,821.80. The tickets were sold in Cranbrook and Squamish in B.C., one in Western Canada, and two in Ontario.
The third prize will be split among 85 people, each getting $983.60.
During the draw, there were also 25 guaranteed prizes worth $10,000 to be won, with two winning tickets sold in B.C., seven in Western Canada, 10 in Ontario, four in Quebec, and two in Atlantic Canada.
In B.C., no one won the Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000. However, someone in Ontario is $1 million richer after matching the Encore winning number 7421616.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot was Feb. 5, when a lottery player from Edmonton, Alta. won the $30-million top prize.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, March 29, and the jackpot is worth $38 million.
