Canadians could soon get money from a massive settlement in a class-action lawsuit filed against Keurig.
Keurig has agreed to pay a settlement amount worth $1.85 million, according to a Jan. 12 notice issued by claims administrator Eqitas. On Oct. 22, 2025, plaintiff Nancy Buis brought the class action forward, alleging that Keurig sold pods and brewers in Canada that “contained misleading representations as to the recyclability and/or disposability of the pods.”
The settlement was approved on Dec. 8, 2025, by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The court hasn’t “made any determinations of the merits” of the claims brought against Keurig, and the notice states that the settlement is a compromise and “not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Keurig.”
How much could you receive?

The court has approved legal fees that amount to $634,845.17, plus taxes, which will be deducted from the $1.85-million settlement. The remainder will then be paid out to eligible class members.
You could be eligible if you purchased Keurig K-Cup single-serve coffee pods and/or Keurig coffee machines or brewing systems sold in Canada from June 8, 2016, to Dec. 8, 2025. According to the lawsuit, you could receive the following:
- For K-Cup Pods — if you don’t have proof of purchase, you could receive up to $7 per claim; however, if you have proof of purchase for at least one pod, you could receive 50 cents for every 10 pods purchased or up to $50 per claim.
- For K-Cup Brewers — if you have proof of purchase of at least one brewer or at least one pod, you could receive a maximum of $25 per claim.
Class members can submit claims for both pods and brewers.
