A Canadian man working multiple jobs to support his family is finally getting a break after a lottery win.

Lottery player Reden Ramos is a Saskatoon, Sask., resident who decided to buy a Lotto 6/49 ticket while at London Drugs one day. Ramos had stopped at the pharmacy chain to buy formula for his newborn baby son when he added the extra purchase.

However, he didn’t have the chance to check his ticket right after the draw.

“I didn’t know I was a winner right away,” Ramos laughed. “I have three jobs and a baby, so I stay busy!”

He said he was getting ready for work one day at around 8 a.m. when he finally picked up his ticket and scanned it with the Lotto Spot app.

“I thought, ‘Is it true?'” he recalled.

Sure enough, it was. Ramos had won a $1 million White Ball prize during the Lotto 6/49 draw on December 10.

“I must have scanned it at least 10 times!” he said. “It was hard to relax thinking about the win — I told my wife, and she started to cry.”

Ramos said that the win couldn’t have happened at a better time for their growing family.

“We feel truly blessed to be able to take care of our baby,” he said. “I will open a bank account for my baby boy, and we’re thinking about properties — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing!”

According to Ramos, the $1 million windfall means a new chapter for the family.

“It’s so unexpected, and we’re so grateful,” he said, smiling.

Ramos purchased his winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket from London Drugs at 134 Primrose Dr. in Saskatoon.
