Canadian plans to relax after scoring his SECOND lottery win this year

Luck is in the pocket of one Canadian lottery player after netting his second major win of the year back in May.

James Hill of Lethbridge, Alta., won $200,000 on a Scratch & Win ticket earlier this year, and he won another major prize in May – $100,000 on Poker Lotto.

The winner said it took him a minute to believe what he saw on the store’s self-scanner screen.

“I couldn’t read the screen at first,” he told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) while claiming his prize. “I had to scan it three times and then have the cashier scan it for me again.”

When asked how it felt to win this prize, Hill had a cheeky response, saying it was “just another day in the neighbourhood.”

After winning $200,000 in February, Hill said he had hoped to purchase a new vehicle and put the remainder into savings. This time around, the winner said he has one main plan.

“I’m going to put [the money] in the bank and just relax,” he said.

Hill purchased his winning ticket from the Circle K located at 2515 Highlands Rd. W. in Lethbridge. He won his second major prize of the year by matching all five cards drawn on the May 14 nightly draw – the Queen of spades, four of clubs, seven of clubs, Ace of diamonds and seven of diamonds.

Hill isn’t the only Albertan to be making the news lately after scoring more than one lottery win while playing — another southern Alberta man has won the lottery not once, not twice, but THREE times over the past nine months.

Another Albertan in Calgary also netted his second lottery win of his lifetime, too. Talk about luck!
