A Lotto Max winner in Alberta says she plans to take a trip to Canada’s largest shopping mall with her newfound windfall.

Mijeen Naude is the newest Lotto Max millionaire in Alberta after the Bezanson local won $1 million on the May 9 draw.

Naude told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) that she was sitting in the car, waiting for her daughter to get in, when she scanned her ticket on the Lotto Spot app.

“All these zeroes came up as my daughter was getting in and I couldn’t believe it!” she said while claiming her prize. “I showed my daughter and then she told me we should show up at my husband’s work to tell him.”

“He didn’t believe me at first,” she laughed. “He thought something was wrong!”

Naude and her husband are excited to enjoy the winnings together and are already dreaming up how to do it, including buying a car, paying some bills, and invest.

Naude also has travel plans in mind, like visiting Vancouver Island and taking a trip to Canada’s largest shopping mall, West Edmonton Mall. She is certainly going to have to stay at the Fantasyland Hotel while there!

“I never thought this would happen and I’m so happy!” she said, adding with a laugh: “Now my husband has a sugar mama!”

Naude purchased her winning Lotto Max ticket from Petro Canada at 13211 100 St. in Grande Prairie. She was one of five Maxmillions winners in the May 9 draw and won with the selection: 6, 17, 21, 22, 35, 42, and 44.
