Two spots in Canada named best in the world to visit in 2026
Canada is full of amazing destinations, and two Canadian spots just landed on a list of the best places in the world to visit in 2026.
U.S. News just released its list of the 30 best places in the world to visit in 2026, and one of Alberta’s top destinations and a historic Canadian city found themselves in the ranking.
Quebec City made the cut, coming in 28th place. It was noted for its cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and “undeniable charm.”
“Upon passing through the fortified walls of Old QuĂ©bec, you’ll discover a world straight out of a European painting: 18th and 19th-century buildings house bakers, bistros and boutiques, while cobbled squares are drowned by a sea of cafe tables.”

The ranking says June through September and December through February are the best times to visit, noting those times as peak times for festivals and events.Â
As for accommodations, U.S. News ranked the best hotels in the city, with the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac coming in first, followed by Auberge Saint-Antoine and Monsieur Jean.Â
The other Canadian spot to make the list was Banff, coming in 29th place, mentioning its abundance of activities and Swiss-like skiing atmosphere.

U.S News also ranked Banff as the fifth best place to visit in Canada in 2026 earlier this month.
The ranking noted the Fairmont Banff Springs as the best hotel in the area, followed by the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and the Rimrock Resort Hotel Banff.
Rome took the top spot on the ranking, followed by Tokyo and Prague in second and third, respectively.
