Cancelling a trip to the US? Canada's best hotels and resorts have been revealed

The best hotels and resorts in Canada have been revealed.
US News and World Report has announced its 2025 ranking of the best hotels in Canada, which may be of interest to Canadians who are feeling discouraged about travelling to the US amid tariff tensions.
With US President Donald Trump officially imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum imports on Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is urging Canucks to “choose Canada.”
âNow is also the time to choose Canada. There are many ways for you to do your part,â said Trudeau during a February 1 press conference.
âIt might mean changing your summer vacation plans to stay here in Canada and explore the many national and provincial parks, historical sites, and tourist destinations our great country has to offer.â
Some Canadians have taken this to heart, cancelling their US travel plans even at an extra cost.
Amra Durakovic, head of communications for Flight Centre Travel Group Canada, said that amid the uncertainty, Canadians are âincreasingly pivoting awayâ from their US vacations.
âWhat that shows is Canadians, theyâre making a clear stance by choosing to spend their tourism dollars elsewhere,â she said in a phone interview with Daily Hive. âItâs really highlighting our power of values-driven decisions to, in a quiet way, protest the US administrationâs 25% tariffs. Itâs a powerful message.â
So, if you’ve cancelled your trip down south and are looking to pivot and book a Canadian staycation, US News and World Report has you covered.
