All of the 180+ vendors participating in YYC Hot Chocolate Fest
Get excited, Calgary! One of the year’s most highly anticipated festivals is heading back to the city, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
That’s right, it’s officially the sweetest time of the year, with the return of YYC Hot Chocolate Fest, which kicks off this weekend.
From Feb. 1 to 28, dozens of the city’s top restaurants, cafĂ©s and bars will be sharing their most chocolatey creations. Excitingly, YYC Hot Chocolate Fest has also taken over the Okotoks Hot Chocolate Festival, adding a whole host of new locations to explore outside city limits.
This year, there are over 264 participating locations serving up their unique hot chocolate creations with the aim of snagging one of the coveted awards.
Hot chocolate enthusiasts can vote for their favourite hot chocolates in four categories: best hot chocolate, best spirited hot chocolate (for boozy offerings), most creative hot chocolate, and the brand new Worth The Drive award to celebrate those participants outside of Calgary.
The most sold hot chocolate throughout the festival will also get an award.
In addition to offering some truly delicious offerings, the event also supports an excellent cause, raising money for Calgary Meals on Wheels. Up to $3 from each cup sold will go directly to the charity. Last year, the festival raised over $145,000.
