Mount Norquay

Mount Norquay is open on Christmas Day, and the best part is that you get to shred for free if you dress up as Santa. Just a hat isn’t going to cut it, though; you’ll need the full red suit.

 Skating rinks

Outdoor skating rinks are everywhere, and if the weather permits they’ll be open to the public.

Thomson Family Park: 1236 16th Avenue SW

Carburn Park: 67 Riverview Drive SE

Bowness Park Lagoon: 8900 48th Avenue NW

Olympic Plaza: 228 8th Avenue SE

Big Marlborough Park: 6033 Madigan Drive NE

Tobogganing and sledding

As long as we end up with a white Christmas, Calgarians will be able to head over to one of the city’s 21 designated sledding hills to enjoy a fun day on the slopes — for free!

Cross country skiing

There are plenty of places to take the cross country skis in and around Calgary, and the city has provided a handy list of golf courses and trails for you to head to this Christmas!
