Mother Nature is shining on Calgary this week.

It may have taken a few thunderstorms and some serious hail to finally get through to a proper summer, but the sunshine and warm weather have come at just the right time.

Seeing as the 2019 Calgary Folk Music Festival will be bringing Calgarians and visitors alike out to the green grass of Prince’s Island Park, some sunny days will surely be a welcome addition alongside the dozens of artists, food vendors, and cold drinks that will populate the four-day festival.

However, this being Calgary, there is a slight chance that the forecast will turn against us completely — though as of right now, it’s looking to be clear skies and hot (though not too hot) days, according to The Weather Network.

The festival kicks off this Thursday, which could see highs of 25°C and sunny skies. Friday is expected to be much of the same with a high of 27°C (though feeling closer to 29°C) with another 15 hours of sunshine.

Saturday and Sunday cool off down to 24°C and 23°C respectively, and both feature a 30% chance of showers. When it comes down to it, we’re sure that sweaty festival-goers won’t mind the brief showers if it means cooling off a bit between shows!

Tickets to the festival are still available at the Calgary Folk Music Festival website, either as single day or full weekend passes.
