A brand-new dining experience is opening at YYC Calgary International Airport very soon.

Wander Kitchen & Bar is set to be the latest culinary addition to the airport, with the concept being brought to life by none other than Chef Nicole Gomes.

After winning Top Chef Canada: All Stars and stints on shows including Beat Bobby Flay and Iron Chef Gauntlet, Gomes co-founded popular Calgary fried chicken spot Cluck N Cleaver, alongside her sister, Francine.

Now, Gomes will be spearheading the airport’s newest restaurant, focusing on fresh flavours at its location near the C Gates.

“Wander Kitchen & Bar will be the place that you come and feel that you got a wholesome meal,” Gomes said of the new project.

The name stems from Gomes’ tendency to wander, but also relates to those travelling and wandering through the airport.

“It’s about discovery, and travelling, and being curious, and wandering about and looking, and finding new places and people. I think it’s a very appropriate name.”

While no opening date for Wander has been announced just yet, it will certainly be an exciting addition to the airport.
