Here's what visitors should expect from a trip to Lake Louise this weekend

Those planning for a gorgeous trip out into the Rockies this weekend are most definitely not alone.

A recent release from Parks Canada details what the situation is expected to look like for those hoping to visit Lake Louise this August long weekend, because it is expected to be busy.

According to Parks Canada, prospective visitors should be planning ahead, with a day’s schedule that includes back-up plans in the likely case that the Lake Louise lots are too full.

Those who do want to wait it out will be seeing an estimated 60 to 90 minute wait time to grab a parking spot, “having to circle multiple times before being permitted access,” the release states.

Vehicles will only be allowed into the parking lot to find a spot once stalls are available.

Once you’re out of the car, visitors are expected to maintain physical distance at all times or wear a mask when two metres of separation is not possible.

As always, those who enjoy the beauty of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains are also expected to leave no trace when visiting outdoor spaces, which means taking your garbage home with you if bins are full.

Best of luck!
