Well-known restaurant famous for its ribs is returning to Calgary
After a vanishing act from Calgary’s dining scene, it appears as if Tony Roma’s is preparing for a comeback.
Calgary was previously home to several Tony Roma’s outposts, all of which have disappeared over the years. However, signage for the restaurant chain has appeared at 601 8th Ave. SW, the space that Mister M previously occupied.
No opening date for the location has been revealed just yet, with the signage simply reading “coming soon,” so Calgarians will need to wait to get their hands on its ribs.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Tony Roma’s, it’s perhaps best known for its signature baby back ribs, its “World-Famous” onion loaf, and classic potato soup. The spot also serves a selection of seafood, steaks, handhelds and more.
Founded in Florida in the 1970s, Tony Roma’s now operates more than 100 restaurants across five continents. There are currently four locations in Alberta, with two in Edmonton, one in Medicine Hat and another in Lethbridge.
