Tim Hortons is dropping a popping 'fireworks donut' for Canada Day

Tim Hortons is appealing to the masses this Canada Day, with a donut that is sure to inspire feelings of nostalgia for many.

The Canadian institution is introducing a fireworks-inspired donut, topped with popping candies that literally go “boom!” in your mouth, just in time for the July 1 holiday.

The Canada Day Fireworks Donut is a classic vanilla donut dipped in white fondant and topped with red and white sprinkles, finished with popping candy. The treat will be available at Tim Hortons locations across Canada starting June 26.

“To celebrate Canada Day, we wanted to provide our guests with a fun donut that actually pops,” says Mike Hancock, Chief Operating Officer of Tim Hortons in a release.

“Canadians from coast to coast celebrate Canada Day with fireworks, so we wanted to create a new donut that Canadians would be excited to share with friends and family.”

Get ready to celebrate July 1 with a bang.
