A Calgary grocery store that’s been a neighbourhood fixture in Britannia for three decades is closing its doors this month.

Sunterra Market shared the sad news that it would be closing its Britannia location on Nov.9, after 30 years, due to “changes in property ownership and tenancy arrangements in the building.”

“While we deeply regret having to say goodbye, we’re incredibly grateful for the loyalty, support and relationships we’ve built with our customers, neighbours and community partners since opening in 1996,” it said.

The Sunterra team also thanked its customers, neighbours, and team members for being part of its long journey in YYC.

It also confirmed that Fresh Rewards members would still be able to redeem their points at its other locations across the city.

Earlier this year, Sunterra also closed one of its Edmonton locations at Commerce Place after 32 years.

While the closure will be a sad loss for the community, there are still a few more days to shop at Sunterra’s Britannia location.
