
More than 20 vehicles have crashed on Stoney Trail, and the road has since been partially closed to allow crews to clear the wreckage.
The pile-up happened Friday morning on Stoney Trail SE between Chaparral Boulevard SE and Cranston Boulevard SE heading westbound, according to a release from the Calgary Police Service.
TRAFFIC: As a result of a collision involving numerous vehicles we have closed W/B Stoney Trail SE between Chaparral Blvd SE & Cranston Blvd SE.

Eastbound traffic on Stoney Trail SE remains open, but CPS warns of foggy conditions and major delays.

The crash occurred following a few days of extreme snow and icy conditions in Calgary, which was likely a factor in the multiple-vehicle collision.
