It happened it bits and pieces, but the Calgary Police Service has recovered the gun, vehicle, and other police items that were stolen last week.

The on-duty officer had left his badge, identification, soft body armour, pepper spray, handcuffs, and handgun inside the vehicle when it was stolen, prompting CPS to issue a release calling for anyone who had seen the vehicle to report it immediately.

A new release confirms that the vehicle had been recovered the next day on March 13 — it was found in the parking lot of a church on 19th Street NW.

Other items were recovered a few days later, including the police badge. The officer’s firearm and body armour were recovered by police on March 17.

Police are still investigating the situation and are asking anyone with additional information to contact their non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.
