Calgary just got a new cafe and it's the first to serve Japanese salt bread
A brand-new spot offering authentic Japanese matcha and salt bread has just opened in Calgary.
Tucked inside Tokyo Street Market’s Macleod location is Sora Bake & Tea House, a new spot for Calgarians to relax with a sip and a snack.
Focusing on those “slow moments,” Sora offers Japanese organic matcha, hojicha, and genmaicha, as well as coffee.
But what’s even more exciting is that it’s the first spot in the city to offer Japanese salt bread.

Salt bread, or Shio Pan, has been having a major moment on social media lately, and it’s easy to see why with its pillowy soft milk bread, golden brown exterior, and, of course, a pinch of salt on top.
At Sora, its salt bread is baked fresh every day and comes with a wide variety of fillings from sweet to savoury.
Sora is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
