Just as the extreme cold wanes, a huge amount of snow is set to fall over southern Alberta tonight, with up to 25 centimetres expected in areas around Calgary.
Regions around Okotoks, High River and Claresholm are all under the snowfall warning.
Areas further into the mountains and foothills including west of the city in Canmore and Kananaskis, and further south in Waterton and the Crowsnest Pass, are also included in the warning.

The snow is expected to start late in the afternoon on Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.
The areas that should see the highest amount of snowfall are in the extreme southwest of the province, near Pincher Creek and Waterton National Park, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
Calgary will also be affected, with snow expected to pile up fast over 24 hours tonight.
