One of Calgary’s most beloved coffee roasters is taking a bold step, with an expansion south of the border.

Rosso Coffee Roasters, a Calgary staple since 2012, has shared that it will be setting up shop in Houston, with a new coffee shop and roastery on the way.

With five locations under its belt in YYC, this will be Rosso’s first international location and will be home to the company’s roasting operations for its U.S. customers.

As a nod back to its Calgary roots, the Houston outpost will also incorporate some of the original roasting equipment that Rosso has used in Calgary.

As for what the space will look like, the Rosso team has shared some hints.

“Imagine terrazzo tiles, oak woodwork, a large coffee bar, plenty of seating and a front row view of the roastery,” they said in an Instagram post.

While Rosso hasn’t shared an opening date for the U.S. outpost, it’s exciting to know that soon Calgarians will be able to get a taste of home when visiting the city.
