Attention, seafood lovers! One of Calgary’s tastiest food events is returning this weekend, and it’s also raising money for a good cause.

Rodney’s Oyster House is hosting its annual Oyster Fest on Sunday, June 22, in support of The Mustard Seed. Throughout the event, Calgarians will be able to check out food and drink booths, enjoy a live DJ, place bids in a silent auction and even participate in a heated oyster shucking competition, if they dare.

Among the dishes on offer are oysters (of course), Rodney’s famous New England clam chowder, mini fish and chips, calamari, and cheeseburger sliders.

The main event, the oyster shucking competition, will kick off at 2 p.m. and will be judged by some of the most prominent names in Calgary’s food scene, including Mike Pigot of Pat & Betty, Tony Migliarese from Dopo and Pizza Face, and Cem Dobranski of Medium Rare Chef Apparel and Spirit Wares.

Admission to the festival starts at $40 and includes one drink ticket and one food ticket. For $65, guests will receive admission, one drink ticket, and a food ticket, and will also be eligible to enter the shucking competition. Additional food tickets will be available for $5 each.
