Just 24 hours after the couple announced that they were officially engaged, Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have set a date for their Royal wedding.

According to a press release issued by the palace this morning, the couple will tie the knot in May 2018.

Of course this will be no ordinary wedding.

But while Harry won’t be following his brother’s lead in giving the British public the gift of a bonus Stat Day for his impending nuptials, he will at least enjoy some of the royal trappings with the ceremony set to take place in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The release adds that the Queen has given her permission for the ceremony to take place at the castle, which is good because otherwise things could have been pretty awkward when it came to sending out the invitation.

The memo also states that the Royal family will be paying for the ceremony, which is probably a good thing given that we suspect the shindig will stretch a lot further than a few boxes of wine and a finger buffet.
