Alex Ovechkin's on-ice style was influenced by Flames legend Theo Fleury

It turns out Alex Ovechkin is a big Theo Fleury fan.

In town for Tuesday’s game against the Calgary Flames, Ovechkin met up with Fleury at the morning skate.

According to Fleury, Ovechkin wears a tinted visor and yellow skate laces because of the Flames’ old number 14.

Went down to the Dome this morning and found out Ovi is a big Theo Fleury fan. Said his yellow laces and tinted visor inspiration came from me wearing them back in the day!!!! He also asked me for an autographed stick. Who’d of thought. Great morning. pic.twitter.com/8qwg3hmSg5

The Washington Capitals captain proceeded to ask for an autographed stick, Fleury says, which clearly flattered the 51-year-old.
