New Calgary restaurant fusing Peruvian and Japanese cuisine is opening soon

A brand-new Calgary restaurant serving up Nikkei-inspired bites and cocktails is set to open in the city very soon.
ORIJINS will be opening its doors on Macleod Trail, specializing in tapas-style dishes taking inspiration from the flavours of Latin America and Japan.
If you’re unfamiliar, Nikkei cuisine is a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavours and techniques dating back to the early 1900s when Japanese immigrants arrived in Peru.

“From the colourful markets of Latin America to the timeless traditions of Japan, this fusion tells a story of migration, resilience, and creativity,” ORIJINS said on its website.
“At ORIJINS, those flavours and philosophies meet again in Calgary: fiery spices balanced with delicate technique, soulful comfort elevated by refined artistry.”
While an official opening date for the spot has yet to be revealed, this is one opening that we’ll be keeping a close eye on.
