Much-loved Calgary brewery reveals a major development milestone

We might shed a happy tear, as one of Calgary’s most popular taprooms is a little bit closer to making its grand return.

Many Calgarians were devastated in 2024 when Ol’ Beautiful, the incredibly popular Inglewood brewery and taproom, was destroyed in a fire.

While there have been many more exciting projects for Ol’ beautiful, including the opening of its bar, Sound Room, later in 2024, we’ve been waiting patiently for news of the return of the taproom.

Now, almost two years after the fire, a development permit application for a new taproom has officially been submitted to the City of Calgary, meaning we’re a baby step closer to its return.

The new building will be on the same corner, located at 1103 12th St. SE, just next to Cold Garden.

“There’s still a long road ahead and plenty of work to be done. Timelines are up in the air, but after almost two years of meetings, drawings, revisions, conversations, and figuring out what comes next…it feels really good to finally have this big step underway,” the Ol’ Beautiful team said on Instagram.

They also thanked its staff, who have been working for the last two years to keep Ol’ Beautiful moving forward, despite the challenges.

“So, what comes next isn’t just about rebuilding a building. It’s an opportunity to create the next chapter of Ol’ Beautiful together.”

While we know it’ll still be a while before the taproom is back in action, we’ll be so ready.
