Celebrate New Year's Eve at a FREE family-friendly Central Library dance party

Dec 17 2019, 11:52 pm

New Central Library is sending 2019 out in style.

As part of the City of Calgary’s free NYE celebrations, the city’s newest architectural marvel will be playing host to crowds of Calgarians from noon to 4 pm.

Unfortunately, you won’t get to do the official countdown to midnight within the library’s halls, but the activities planned for the party will make for the perfect start to a day out on the town — or a place to celebrate with the kids.

The New Central Library New Year’s Eve party will include family dancing, a family-friendly theatre performance, games, and much more.

After the Central Library, the fun heads over to Studio Bell from 5 to 9 pm, ending with an early kid’s countdown.

Those hoping to brave the late night will then be able to head over to Olympic Plaza, where skating hours will be extended to midnight — and it also makes for a great place to watch the Calgary Tower’s celebratory fireworks to ring in the new year.

Not a bad way to send out 2019, if we don’t say so ourselves.
