That gigantic, oddly-shaped hunk of a building in Calgary’s East Village has finally opened its doors to the public, and it is everything we could have imagined.
After more than three years of construction, millions of dollars, and a few interesting public art installations, the library officially launches its grand opening at 10 am on Thursday, November 1.

Calgarians and visitors alike are welcome to check out the new space, wander the halls, and enjoy the public artwork on display both inside the building and outside its walls.
A few special people were invited in ahead of time to get a sneak peek of the place, and a few of them were kind enough to post some photos to social media.
