Calgary’s first clay pot restaurant, Clay Pot Rice, is officially opening this weekend. The 4515 Macleod Trail SW spot specializes in traditional Chinese clay pot dishes and also serves up an array of beverages such as boba and beer.

This new plant-based destination is located at 3103B Edmonton Trail NE, and it’s now open daily from 11 am to 9 pm.  Nan’s 100% plant-based menu has eats like ramen, bahn mi’s, pho, and pad thai, to name a few.

Two of Calgary’s much-loved local concepts have been cooking something up behind the scenes, and now Made By Marcus and Lil’ Empire Burger have opened their new location. The ice cream shop and burger joint took over a Bridgeland space formerly occupied by longtime Middle Eastern spot Tazza, which closed after 23 years of operation earlier this year.

This new concept opened earlier this month. It’s brought to us by the folks behind Shiki Menya. Patrons can head to get quality handheld grub at a takeout window located behind the 824 1 Avenue NE ramen shop Monday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm.

Ten Degrees Chocolate

Ten Degrees Chocolate has opened its doors in Calgary, and this new sweet spot has a lot to offer those with an affinity for sugary goodies. The 818 16 Avenue SW spot took over the former location of Parc Café and Brasserie, and it’s now open and operating from Tuesday to Sunday.
