EIGHT just opened in YYC’s East Village over the weekend, and it sounds like anyone who steps through the restaurant’s secret entrance is in for a treat. The eight-seat eatery from chef Darren MacLean features matte-textured black walls, dark ceilings, and black marble counters, and it is located in the back of NUPO Restaurant.

Located in Calgary’s East Village at 631 Confluence Way SE (Alt Hotel), NUPO promises diners an array of plant-forward creations alongside dry-aged sushi. This spot also offers patrons an Omakase Sushi Experience, available by reservation only. This feast features 12 courses of handcrafted single-piece sushi. In addition to the food, folks can enjoy artisanal cocktails, sake, wine, and Japanese teas.
