EIGHT to open in Calgary's East Village on January 17

Calgary’s soon-to-be-open new restaurant EIGHT is taking the “low-key” dinner concept to a whole new level — because it’s hidden.

EIGHT is slated to open in YYC’s East Village later this month, and it sounds like anyone who enters the restaurant’s secret entrance is in for a treat.

The eight-seat eatery from chef Darren MacLean features matte textured black walls, dark ceilings, and black marble counters, and is located in the back of NUPO Restaurant.

EIGHT will feature modern Canadian food, and for its opening guests can enjoy the winter Canadian Reflections menu, which runs until mid-March.

Mark your calendars and make your reservations ahead of EIGHT’s opening this month, but don’t bring your cameras — there’s no photography permitted at this new hidden gem.

Once it opens, this spot will be open Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 6:30 pm.
