The City of Montreal has declared a state of emergency due to flooding potential and rising floodwaters throughout the island of Montreal.
Montreal’s Mayor Valérie Plante made the announcement on Friday afternoon.

Upcoming torrential downpours worsen the situation as the city’s rivers are already overflowing.
