Man stabbed and robbed near Marlborough Mall on Thursday: police

A man was stabbed on Thursday afternoon near Marlborough Mall, according to a release from the Calgary Police Service.

The release states that the man had been waiting to cross the street at Memorial Drive and 36th Street NE when he was approached by a man who stabbed him and took his bag.

The suspect then fled north towards the mall on the east side of the street.

Witnesses describe him as “approximately 20 to 25 years old, of medium build, with blonde or brown hair. He was wearing a red flat brimmed baseball cap with a white short-sleeved shirt and baggy dark blue sweatpants with white pinstripes down the sides.”

The victim is in stable condition in hospital, the release states.
